Northwest MogFest 2019: Celebrating 20 years!!!
Hello to all! It is hard to believe we are less than two months away from the start of Northwest MogFest once again. It is not too late to make plans to join in the fun! In addition to Unimogs, 4x4 and 6x6 Pinzgauers, Volvo 4x4 and 6x6 C-series, Land Rovers/Range Rovers/Discoveries/etc., a Saurer, M...

Northwest MogFest 2019
HOMECOMING!!! That's our theme for what will be our 20th anniversary event and I do believe Haflingers have been present for all but the first two events. While the main theme will be Homecoming, it will have a definite Back To The Future feel. And if we cannot locate a real DeLorean, do not be surp...

Re: Newbie looking for parts to fix up a neglected hafi
Jay, Congratulations on your find. Looks like and interesting project. There is a very active and steadily growing Haflinger community all along the northern Pacific coast from BC to northern CA. Several of us in the Portland, OR/Vancouver, WA area have been able to amass an excellent stockpile of u...

It sounds like you have covered all the bases short of what appears to be your next step...pulling the transaxle. I highly recommend you make contact with Jim LaGuardia in San Bernadino, CA. He has an excellent photo series on his Goatwerks site. Hope this helps. Take care. Jim Molloy Waldersee Farm...

Re: No Reserve: 1974 Steyr-Puch Haflinger 5-Speed Poly
Great idea! Forget authenticity and structural integrity. Just paint them pretty. SOLD! It would be very interesting to park this truck next to a Polycab in original condition and let the new owner see the differences with their own eyes. Hopefully that owner is now and will remain happy with their ...

Re: No Reserve: 1974 Steyr-Puch Haflinger 5-Speed Poly
I suspect that the reason this Polycab cannot be licensed in Georgia will be the same reason it not be licensed for on road use in ANY of the fifty US states. The listing calls this a restoration. The only original part of an original Haflinger tub on this "restoration" is the formed sheet...

Correct. Just 2017. The number of countries represented from our start in 2000 to the present is certainly higher. The only continent not represented thus far is Antarctica.
Take care.

Re: Northwest MogFest 2017
Garry, Thank you! In the video, you may have noticed the LARGE yellow Unimog U500-based expedition camper parked in the front field near the road. That couple is from Australia. This year was one of our best from the standpoint of international "family members". We like to think of NWMF as...

Re: Northwest MogFest 2017
Julian, Thank you for the kind words. While there is a lot of work that goes on behind (and not-so-behind) the scenes to prep for the annual gathering, we truly enjoy bringing all these interesting people and their interesting vehicles together year after year. There is a photo on the NWMF FaceBook ...

Re: Handbrake Lever Position
Garry, It may be a simple case of odd parts being used at the end of a production to expedite getting the last vehicles out the door. I know my LHD 1973 703APK Polycab has the shorter lever and the parallel-sided lever mount secured with standard M8 hex head bolts. Perhaps some of the NOS parts supp...

Re: Handbrake Lever Position
Garry, None of the levers I examined on the farm this morning appear to be like those you and John have. The shorter levers I have come to know and love appear to be a one piece metal forming while yours appear to be a two piece production welding the forward tubular handle section to the flat inver...

Re: Handbrake Lever Position
Hello to all, I just checked the eight operational Haflingers currently on the farm. They range from a 1962 ex-Swiss Army to a 1973 703APK min age. There is also a Swiss trainer, both a Canadian NA spec and US NA spec truck, a later Swiss Bantam and two European spec trucks. all are LHD models. None...

Re: My Hafy project is complete
Your front seats are definitely are NOT original...although they do appear a very nice upgrade.
If anyone can identify these replacement seats, I would be very interested in learning their true identity/origin.
Take care.

Very nice looing truck.
Can you share more information about your source for your FRONT seats? Some additional photos would be helpful. I am also very interested in your exhaust system. Photos please!
You have done very well!

Re: Tool for forming brass hinge rods
Try sections of either metric or Imperial/SAE "all thread" cut to length and cap each end with an aircraft Nyloc nut. An appropriate length Allen Head machine screw is even better. I have disassembled some Haflingers that someone had used nails as hinge pins. they still had the pointed tip...

Re: Shift lever boot substitute or crossover?
You cam always break out the sewing machine and make a truncated conical boot with purse-string closures at the top and bottom. Upholstery vinyl or thin leather can work and adds a personal touch if you are so inclined. There are kits available on line as well. Take care. Jim Molloy Waldersee Farm h...
