My 62 I just drove to Seattle and back (side roads at less then 45 mph) and then around town. I am getting 36.4 with the new motor.

Re: Scissor jack?

The rod sticking out the top end is the handle. Just pull it out and pump the jack

Yes welcome. Did your new purchase come from a fellow mogger in Canada by chance? If not what is the history on yours?
Again welcome!

Re: Scissor jack?

My original one is not a scissor one but kinda looks like a small hi-lift and mounts under the dash.
Is that not original to all Hafi's or is that an optional jack and or specific to Bantam models

Robert and his wife separated and he is now in a extended vacation. His wife was the one that ran the buianess.
When ordering from him it might be best to go through LEONARDO CASTIGLIONE his North American partner.

Re: Adding PTO

If it is just air for your tires and such. You might just consider a co2 tank or a air conditioner pump converted and mounted through the pulley system (search YouTube).

Re: Haflingers at War

Interesting, with the US activly using Mules in Vietnam, I suprised Haflingers were not used extensivly. Having friends that spent time there from the US forces, they indicated the Mule was a perfect truck in theater.

Re: Engine Build by Leolardo Castiglione in California

Good points and ones that Leo has addressed. I have asked him to chime in on this, but oil pump / bypass was changed to a new ball bearing sytem that dramiticly changes it. He builds these motors up to 1,000 cc for Fiat racers and it extreemly knowlagable the inherent issues the stock Puch motor has...

Ever consider going this route? http://www.lnengineering.com/custom.html The last I heard, Raceway Services in Salem was planning to use aluminum Posche cylinders on the two Haflinger engines they are currently building. Take care. Jim Molloy Waldersee Farm http://www.northwestmogfest.com VW cylind...

Engine Build by Leolardo Castiglione in California

OK as some of you know my motor was worn out and in need of a rebuild. It was leaking and burning excessive oil everytime I drove it. It turns out my crank had about .100 end play and that was what was causing all the leaking. Since Leo helped me diagnose my problems, I decided to send him the motor...

Re: Engine strip down.

I bought an NOS number 5 setup from Technic, it was reasonably priced and I think will be a huge improvement over the number 2 I had.
Give them a shout and see if they have more. I spent around 130 pounds (I think) for mine.

Re: What battery?

I am a big fan of gell batteries in these trucks. They tend to more like a marine battery with higher cranking amps and don't leak like regular lead acid ones.
Optima is one of the more common brands in my area.

Re: fire fighter / search and rescue type shirt Steyr Puch

Lots of nice emails and PM's about these shirts. I have more to sell in people are interested. They do run a tad small compared to most other shirts I have ordered. They are heavy weight 100% cotton. 1 xxl some Xl's and a few L's left.
