Re: Front Hubs

Only the first hub I pulled apart! So I still have the second hub to do. I have to wait for weekends to be able to do anything and the weather has not been conducive to working outside. I also discovered that I don't have any spring washers left, so will have to go and buy some more to replace all t...

Front Hubs

I have been slowly doing a rebuild on my front hubs as there was play in the swivel pins and on the way home the drivers side hub started spewing oil. Finally starting to put one hub back together only to find I am missing one little brake bearing pin. So there I am trying to tighten up the bolts th...

Re: Haflingers at Waldersee Farm

The only reason I commented on the trailer wheels is in the picture they look bigger. Must be a perspective thing! How much does the Ural weigh then? If you don't get an overzealous "more than my job is worth" offical, I am sure the Haflinger could cope with a 600Kg load. As for width, a c...

Re: Alternatives to original ignition system.

I am going to have to run the original distributor and points system for a while once I get my Haflinger roadworthy (Weather has been against me). However, I think I might look into electronic ignition of one sort or another later in the year. There are advantages with the original system in that yo...

Re: Haflingers at Waldersee Farm

Jim, Why has your trailer got the wrong wheels on it? Same size as the Hafflinger allows you to have spare(s) that fit both items rather than having to carry one of each! :) Presumably this means that each of you will have to drive / ride one or other vehicle during your "adventure". Pity ...

Re: Moderating new users

I think at the moment it is only Markus who it control of the web site. Obviously moderating all new members posts takes so effort and time. Whilst there are still a small number of members not so much of a problem, but as the site picks up it will only get worse. Hopefully those two posts will be r...

Re: Wiper Motor

I asked a similar question as my wipers have stopped working completely. My understanding from the replies is that the wipers are all one speed and have a self park system controlled by a cam switch on the wiper shaft. I thought looking at the various wiring diagrams ( none of which match my Hafi 10...

Hi,

I hope some does go on it. Should be fun and they will probably provide enough backup to solve most problems.

How do you use your Haflinger?

I am curious as to how and why people have Haflingers. Do they use them for work or are they purely to take to shows? Do they drive them to the Treffens or just put them on a trailer / other transport? Do they even drive down to the local shops? Why own one? Just because they want to relive fond mem...

Only problem is, I am in the UK!

Might be a bit expensive to ship my Haflinger over to the USA in order to visit a couple of shows!

Still I enjoy the pictures.

Slow increase in new forum members

After a promising start, the number of new members joining the forum seems to have slowed down. Part of this of course is the relatively few Haflingers still in existence and as with most niche market things. Most owners of Haflingers now own more than one! The other reason is probably down to adver...

Re: Categories for Haflinger Clubs

Jim, Markus has implemented a size limitation on uploaded photos (good idea). I found the easiest way was to download something like "paint.net" (an upgraded version of paint which ships with windows). Open the photo with it and then use its "resize" - under IMAGE - select someth...

Re: What is the largest diameter tire?

As far as I can tell (and I am by no means an expert on this subject or these vehicles) the hubs have a PDC of 98 which means if you look for rims which list as 4 x 98 (4 studs, 98mm between studs) and an offset of 35 should give you a rim on to which you can fit 145/75/13 up to about 185/80/13. I h...

Re: Why two fuse boxes

I did notice when they were working that they did not "auto park". So yes, you probably are right there is something not right there not including the fact they no longer work at all! The wiper motor will have to wait until I get the front hub sorted as at present the front end is up in th...

Re: 1973 LWB 703

Rear Footwells have been replaced rather badly but as they are currently not going to be used as I have to deal with the rear seats first, I am not too bothered by the bad repairs. I will probably cut them out of the bed and do a better repair before welding them back in again. The other place I had...
