Re: wheel rims
I assume these rims you have will take the tractor tyres and fit on the Haf - if so, is the fact they do not match the spare such an issue, afterall the tyres will be the same and the spare with the original style of wheel will be in the spare wheel cradle and not visible. I assume you will only be ...

Re: Shuush The Little Haffies Are Sleeping
Well the forum has been quiet for a while - obviously the little Haffies are all having a sleep - too cold in the northern hemisphere and too wet in the southern hemisphere for the cars to go out.

Re: voltage regulator
I have a Bosch electronic regulator in mine - so no adjustment needed. My 'red' charging light stays on until about 1000rpm and the voltage meter shows 12.8v. Remember the dynsastarter is a small generator not alternator so voltage generated by is governed by the revs with not much at ldle - the reg...

Re: Double pulley nut.
Yes dont use a open ended spanner - the torque required is likely to allow it to spin on the nut burring it over - get a socket. It fits the dynastarter as well so can go into your tool kit.
A thin ring spanner might fit though.

Re: Double pulley nut.
I have just done this job. I used a 27mm socket about 3" long - it is the same size as the wheel nuts on my Landrover 101. I dont know about torque - the pulley is keyed so I just did it up to about the same as it was - does need an extension bar. To get at the pulley you need to remove the low...

But you are making progress and that is what counts - can be demoralising - a stiff upper lip and all that and all of a sudden it will all come together. If you have any Mercedes Benz independent mechanics who work on older Mercs in the area, they may be able to help as may older Mercs have the same...

Re: 1983 Puch MX500
In my younger days I had a number of offroad bikes and followed KTMs, Maico’s, Husqvarna’s and went to many motocross events - at the time didn't hear of the Puch brand. I had a Cooper 250 MX from 1975 which was made in Mexico and was very similar the Maico and the Husqvarna. I did ride a 125cc Husq...

Dave if you are worrying about what petrol to use, you must now be very close to putting your Haflinger on the road with its very own number plates

Re: petrol
Thankfully we only have E10 here with a full range of "normal" fuels also available 91,95 and 98 Ron normal unleaded. E10 is sold as a cheaper alternative to 91 Unleaded but tests have shown that because of its lower calorific value is gives worse mpg and works out worse than 91 Ron on the...

Re: petrol
In Australia with a standard engine you only need to use 91 unleaded - I would not use E10. 98 is not a "top grade" fuel - it is the same fuel as the 91 but just has additives to increase its octane rating to 98. The higher octane fuel does not produce more power in itself but allows highe...
