Re: Rust Repairs - Poor design
I have done all I am going to do as far as rust rectification goes - fixed up the panel work under and just in front of the drivers sear Ok but the bottom of the floor is more problematic. It has clearly been rusted out before with a mix of processes used to cover up the problem. I was able to weld ...

Beige Haffie Paint Code
Having nearly completed some rust repairs on my Haffie I am going to have to do some paint touch ups. I have asked at my local paint shops for listings on Haffie paint and they have no listings at all. They can paint match a sample but I have found that a bit hit and miss in the past. So does anyone...

Re: Another new member
I''ve just purchased my first Haflinger - it's a 1973 LWB. Structurally it appears good, although I'm finding a lot of 'repairs' some of which are a bit rough. Regards, John John - welcome to the forum is a great resource - having also recently bought my "good" haffie I am also finding a ...

Re: Disconnect Clutch Cable From Steering Box
No wurries - yes is a learning process as I have absolutely no experience with these vehicles and do not have anyone local who has one for me to look at. But I am slowly getting there.

Re: Disconnect Clutch Cable From Steering Box
Thanks Dave - have removed the side plates but do not see how to get at the clutch cable connector on the clutch pedal. By the "nut" do you mean the adjuster nut ?? EDIT:  - just realised that when the adjuster is undone the cable comes away from the steering assembly - there is no n...

Disconnect Clutch Cable From Steering Box
I need to repair some rust under the steering box so need to move it to one side. I have undone the main securing bolts on the floor and dash, disconnected the steering arm from the box and disconnected the brake pipes. The issue is I cannot see how to remove the clutch cable from unit as it is cont...

Re: 3 Haflingers found
Highlights why there doesn't seem to be many Haffies out and about in Aust - they are all stored in everyone's backyards.

Re: Rust Repairs - Poor design
Well got the old rubber out - lost one of the little buttons down the hole but thankfully the gods smiled and I was able to find it amongst the rubbish underneath. All went together with a new rubber OK but there still seems to be some issues with the linkage with the diff lock not staying locked bu...

Re: Rust Repairs - Poor design
I have now welded in new metal to the area under and in front of the seat. I did find a couple of small holes that had been welded up previously. I just need to do some more filling and sanding fill some of the scratch marks. http://i42.photobucket.com/albums/e334/gazzz21/Forum%20Posts%20Album/2013-...

Profiles - Locations
I am new to the Haflinger world and do not know many of the personalities involved and where they come from. Given the forum is "international" can everyone on the forum please complete relevant sections but in particular your location.

Re: Canvas Top
Thanks Rick - I thought that given the total numbers of Haflingers that were made, someone in the world would be making repro tops. I do have a neighbour who does have an industrial sewing machine so I might design something and make it up myself.

Canvas Top
My Haffie just has the truck cab canvas top over the cabin area. I would like to have the option of having the entire body completely enclosed with this style of top. http://i42.photobucket.com/albums/e334/gazzz21/Forum%20Posts%20Album/australia28b_zps5911987e.jpg Can someone advise whether there ar...

Re: Front Hubs
Hi there, I have also made the experience that both pins and bushings are worn, BUT I have also seen Haflingers, where bushings and pins are still fine after many years of usage, because they were apparently greased every now and then... Regards, Constantin You are spot on - they will be included o...

Re: Front Hubs
So all in all, I have basically refurbished both front hubs (and spent a fortune), all because of some play in the swivel pins and an oil leak! I feel your pain having just paid for a whole bunch of parts including those swivel pins etc - is not a good design as there appears nothing to take up the...
